Holy Wisdom, Holy Word…

…and its relevance to our real lives!

Let me introduce myself. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Deb Beloved Church.

I am many things (mom, daughter, sister, friend, lover, writer, pastor…), but above all and in all and through all of those many things, I know myself, by God’s incomprehensible grace, to be one of God’s beloved. As are you.

My greatest privilege is being a mom to three beautiful kids, for whom my deepest desire is that they know themselves also beloved by God.

Another of my great privileges is serving as the pastor at White Rock Presbyterian Church in Los Alamos, New Mexico (wrpchurch.com). And yes, I desire that the good folks there, too, know themselves to be beloved!

Can you see a theme developing?…

As I experience first-hand the joys and challenges of being a pastor, one of the greatest in both categories is preparing and preaching a sermon each Sunday. I have found it to be one of my greatest stresses…up through Saturday night…and then come Sunday morning, one of my greatest joys.

I am going to use this blog as a place to share those sermons with a wider audience, as I believe deep in my soul that there is so much goodness and truth and relevance and power in the message of Jesus–who he was, how he lived, and what he reveals to us about who God is (which is Love) and what God offers (complete forgiveness, radical acceptance, soul-deep peace, genuine hope, healing wholeness–just to name a few! And all of that, for all people.), that if I can reach one or two, or a dozen, more people with this message, well, then that’s one or two or a dozen more people who are hearing good things about God and Jesus, and in the process, one or two or a dozen more people who are hearing, hopefully, that they, too, are among God’s beloved….

I’d love for you to join me on this journey.

Shall we begin?
